Der Bericht des UN-Generalsekretärs zum Millennium+5-Gipfel 2005
Am 21. März 2005 veröffentlichte UN-Generalsekretär Kofi Annan seinen mit Spannung erwarteten Bericht zur Vorbereitung auf den Millennium+5 Gipfel im September 2005. Der Titel „In größerer Freiheit: Auf dem Weg zu Entwicklung, Sicherheit und Menschenrechten für alle“ ist ein bewusster Rückgriff auf die Präambel der UN-Charta. Dass Kofi Annan den Begriff „Freiheit“ so explizit betont, kann aber auch als Konzession an die gegenwärtige US-Politik interpretiert werden, die diesem Begriff zentrale Bedeutung beimisst.
